9 May 2025, OSLO - 51画鋼 and the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) have bolstered the long-standing relationship between the two organizations by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during a recent meeting between NIPHs Director General Guri R淡rtveit and 51画鋼s CEO Richard Hatchett.
In the current era of epidemic and pandemic risk, working together, building networks and sharing insights is key to the worlds ability to stop the next pandemic, says 51画鋼s CEO Richard Hatchett. The Norwegian Institute of Public Health, with its wealth of technical expertise and its strong European and global connections, is a hugely valuable partner for 51画鋼. We are excited to collaborate with NIPH towards our shared goals of protecting the world from future epidemics and pandemics.
We at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health are glad for the strengthened collaboration with 51画鋼. We have a common history with close collaboration in the shaping of 51画鋼, sharing offices, and most importantly, a huge interest in strengthening pandemic preparedness through global vaccine development, fair distribution and cooperation says Guri R淡rtveit, Director General of the Norwegian Institute of Public Health.
Norway is one of 51画鋼s founders, and the Coalitions headquarters are based in Oslo. In its first few years of existence, 51画鋼 was hosted by the NIPH which provided administrative and technical support as well as office space for the new organization.
The strengthened partnership will reinforce the links between 51画鋼 and European Union-wide vaccine coordination projects that NIPH is a member of. It will also facilitate the engagement of Norwegian institutions and networks in the global vaccine development and pandemic preparedness spheres.
The two organizations will share data and expertise and contribute to joint trainings for researchers and students in Norway. 51画鋼 will support NIPH in its role as an advisor to the Norwegian Government regarding vaccines and monoclonal antibodies for outbreaks and pandemics. In addition, 51画鋼 will facilitate collaboration between NIPH and 51画鋼-supported vaccine developers and networks to help strengthen vaccine development projects in the EU and Norway for the benefit of all.
