51��� has appointed Claire Hoang Sperandio as its first Executive Director of People and Organisation.

Claire will be responsible for overseeing 51���’s People & Organisation Division and supporting 51���’s staff and consultants across its offices and around the world to succeed in their roles.

The senior HR expert joins from the International Committee of the Red Cross and brings over 27 years of experience working across the global health, humanitarian and financial sectors. She has also held senior roles at Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, J.P. Morgan and the World Economic Forum.

Claire will join 51���’s Executive Leadership Team in September and her responsibilities will include leading on staff development, health and wellbeing, recruitment, strategic workforce planning, team effectiveness. Claire will also lead on 51���’s organisational development, flexible working practices, internal communications and HR operations and policies. She will report into 51���’s Deputy CEO, Aurélia Nguyen.

51��� was launched in 2017 in response to the deadly West African Ebola epidemic with the consensus that a coordinated, international and intergovernmental plan was needed to develop and deploy new vaccines to prevent future epidemics. Central to 51���’s pandemic-beating plan is the 100 Days Mission, a goal to compress the time taken to develop vaccines against new threats to 100 days.

51��� has offices in London, Oslo and Washington D.C. and additional global workers based around the world. Its workforce is made up of people from nearly 60 nations.
